Anthropologie & Good Eggs Pop-Up Market

image-12.png

We will be at Anthropologie Canal Place this Saturday from 11a - 3p for a good old ‘fashion’ed Pop-up Farmers Market.

We will have plenty of samples on hand for your shopping enjoyment.

This is a perfect opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping so make those lists!

There are some flavors that we are running dangerously low on that may sell out on Saturday: Peach, SPICEy Peach, & Plum Vanilla Bean

Keep in mind they will not be available until next year during their growing seasons so you may want to scoop them up while you can.

Good Eggs Nola has teamed up with Anthropologie and brought together a great selection of other local famers & producers to give you a really nice market. Some of the other local vendors include:

Big Easy Bucha, NOLA Pie Guy, Maxine & Ila’s Caramels, Bittersweet Confections, Nola Tilth, Hanley’s, & Breads on  Oak.

It should be a fabulous day, hope to see you all there!

Come out to celebrate and support this year’s most promising New Orleans Startups, including yours truly,

Locally Preserved.

As many of you already know, Locally Preserved, formerly known as Feed Me Eat Pretty, is a New Orleans-based food startup that produces all-natural cocktail mixers, simple and fruit syrups, and ‘sweetless’ jams and jellies with five ingredients or less by preserving seasonal, local produce.

BIG NEWS! As of last month, 72 of our original recipes have been FDA approved and will be on store shelves very soon.

With a mission to sustain farmers, create honest jobs, and allow everyday people to eat local – everywhere, Locally Preserved is working to perfect its model within the Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama region in an effort to achieve its ultimate goal of scaling nationally.

The Idea Village will be closing out New Orleans Entrepreneur Week with the BIG IDEA, the world’s largest crowd driven pitch event for entrepreneurs, and we want you to CHIP IN to help us win.

THE BIG IDEA, presented by IBERIA BANK, will take place on FRIDAY, MARCH 28TH AT 5PM in the Manning’s Courtyard and along Fulton Street.

Join us for FOOD & DRINKS with SPECIALS & DISCOUNTS from businesses in the area.

Locally Preserved will be competing with 13 other local entrepreneurs for the public’s support to propel them into the final round of competition, where $50k is on the table.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

  •     Entrance to the event is $25, which gets attendees a $25 “Chip” to donate to their favorite entrepreneur. It is recommended that you PRE-REGISTER via www.noew.org
  •     At 6:30pm, the three entrepreneurs with the most chip money (which is theirs to keep!) will advance to the final round and be eligible to win an additional $50,000.
  •     The 14 local entrepreneurs participating in the  the 2014 BIG IDEA are:
  1. 4D Supplements
  2. Athletic Performance Testing(APT)

What a Year?

IV_Blocks 2.jpg

In case y’all missed the BIG news in 2013, I WON the Idea Village New Orleans Food Challenge. A new program designed to incubate New Orleans food companies to help them grow and flourish here in the city. They chose 5 NOLA based companies to participate.

As you are probably aware I do a lot of things through the brand name Feed Me Eat Pretty. I do small party catering, teach cooking classes at Langlois Culinary Crossroads, food styling and production work on food tv shows when they are filmed in NOLA and of course our delicious food products. Through the program, it became apparent that our products needed their own brand identity so…Locally Preserved was born!

Our products are not just your average foods- they are chef created to make home cooking easier and more like a restaurant experience. We use only local produce and are ONLY produced in season! That is why we offer so many amazing flavor combinations!

The fruit and simple syrups are extremely versatile. You can use them in cocktails, over desserts, pastries, for breakfast and even as glazes for meats like pork tenderloin, chicken and beef.

The sweetless jams are just that- no sugar or artificial sweeteners. Only the fruit and pectin, a dream for parents, diabetics and health food nuts alike.

The pepper jellies are not so ordinary- they don’t contain green peppers, garlic or vinegar only fruit and hot peppers. That is what I believe pepper jelly should be!

The Locally Preserved mission is to sustain farmers, create honest jobs and allow real people to eat real local food- everywhere.

In fact, we have identified 14 regions within the United States where we will preserve what is local in each area. We will do this by creating mini manufacturing facilities in each region. This ideal creates a new smaller way of food manufacturing, one that I believe will change the way the world eats.

In the upcoming months you will begin to see the change, new bottles with our new Locally Preserved labels. Even the new Locally Preserved website complete with online ordering, and of course- many many recipes!

I can’t wait to share my hard work of 2013 with all of you. 2014 will be a beautiful year, I feel that from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you for your continued support.

Thank you for enjoying and ‘Eating Pretty’ with me throughout the last amazing 4 years.

Thank you for allowing me into your homes to cook for you, your friends and most importantly your families.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to show you how you can create chef inspired meals with ease, at home.

We would also like to take a moment to THANK all the LOCAL businesses that have given FMEP & LP overwhelming support in 2014: Tales of the Cocktail, New Orleans Moms Blog, the Idea Village, Good Eggs NOLA, Crescent City Farmers Market, the Anthropologie AnthroEvents Pop-up Market, the Southern Food & Beverage Museum and last but definitely not least Langlois Culinary Crossroads! THANK YOU!!!!

I absolutely cherish my job and what I do every day because it doesn’t feel like work. Even the many 18-hour days- they never seem to feel like work. I absolutely love what I do and hope that it cooks through to you in every jar.

Cheers to 2014!

Do you have good eggs?

By now many of you have either heard about Good Eggs or seen it on our labels. But do you know what it is????

Essentially, Good Eggs is a virtual farmers market! If you have ordered from us online before it’s similar to Etsy in the way it sells products to consumers but Good Eggs only sells locally produced or farmed goods.

Instead of shipping your products, Good Eggs personally delivers them to your doorstep — or you can pick them up from convenient pick up spots around New Orleans.

You can either choose to shop directly from the producer in the ‘Direct from Producer’ tab (which is recommended if you only want to purchase from one shop) or have it aggregated with all your other weekly groceries when you shop in the ‘Via Good Eggs Market’ tab (which is recommended if you want to purchase from more than one shop.)

The mission of Good Eggs is to ‘grow and sustain local food systems worldwide’. Good Eggs started in the San Fran/LA area and is also available in NYC. But surely, New Orleans will change the world!

Good Eggs NOLA is available to all customers in and around New Orleans, and will be expanding soon to include the West Bank and Mandeville.

Since teaming up with Good Eggs, our local sales have been amazing! Feed Me Eat Pretty LOVES Good Eggs and you should too! You should want to put the team over there in your pocket so you can carry them around all day and pull out fresh grown goodies any time you want. Because that is really what they have done for this glorious city!
